This was one of the best meals I had while in Playa Del Carmen! Very flavorful and delicious. We had the Rasta Pasta with garlic Lobster and shrimp, Shrimp Scampi, and the Oxtails. We also had the jerk wings and patties! The patties were spicy and a must try! Each dish was delicious.
We made a table reservation and travelled to this restaurant especially, as we saw such great reviews. When we arrived there was a power outage on the whole street! Despite this, we were warmly greeted and shown to a candlelit table and assured they can still serve us. Not too long afterwards the power was back on, and we were served the most delicious Jamaican food! We had the jerk chicken wings, and rasta pasta with chicken and shrimp. It was amazing value! Huge portions. And the service fantastic. Highly recommend to everyone
Amazing and incredible flavor. The chicken is a must, super juicy and great smoked taste. The drinks were great and Liberato (our waiter) waa very nice and gave us recommendations and options of sides. For drinks we had passion fruit daiquiri and margarita and were just perfect. The place takes only cash and worth every bite. Will definitely come back again!
Rockas Jamaican Kitchen came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Rasta Pasta with shrimp, which was suggested by a friend, and it was absolutely delicious. I normally don’t finish an entire plate, but this one was wiped clean, that says a lot! The flavors were bold, creamy, cheesy and had a good level of spice. My husband went for the Garlic Shrimp with rice and vegetables, a light yet flavorful dish that he really enjoyed. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, and our waiter, Jose, was fantastic, attentive and friendly. If you’re craving a Cajun-spiced, flavorful pasta or just want to enjoy authentic flavors in Playa del Carmen, this is the spot! Highly recommend checking it out.
What a delicious night! Strolling tree lined 38th you will find many great restaurants. Keep walking on your left (N) you will find Rockas! Asian/Jamaican inspired dishes and the flavors are indeed worldly. We had jerk wings as a starter, and both of us had Rasta Pasta, my bride with shrimp, I had the lobster/shrimp. Massive! Awesome service from Liberato made the meal special. Muchas Gracias to our new friends at Rockas!
Two words: Rasta Pasta - don’t over think it, just order it!! It’s DELICIOUS. It’s a creamy, garlic infused pasta dish with jerk seasoning and topped with juicy shrimp and lobster. I wish they served it with bread so I could just soak up every last drop of the sauce. Phenomenal! I also have to say, their jerk chicken wings were very good as well, and their habanero sauce has a lot of flavour and heat for those who like spicy food. Be forewarned that this is a cash only establishment. I look forward to returning and trying their Vietnamese dishes, as they offer both Jamaican and Vietnamese options. Special thanks to Eugenio for the great service and attention :)
Absolutely love the food and the hospitality at Rockas. From the minute you walk in, the level of attention is 100%. Stephanie, the owner, is the sweetest most kindest human being. She makes you feel like family. Everything is delicious, but my absolute favorite is the Jerk Chicken dinner. The SAUCE!!!! So addictive! Total food coma ;)
Delicious food! Pleasant staff! Great music! Next time we're in Playa we're definitely going to return to Rockas! We had the BBQ jerk wings, classic jerk wings, old bay shrinp, jerk chicken and cajun shrimp pasta, Jerk chicken dinner with mac and cheese and veggies.
